Develop Competence in
Academic & Personal Tasks

This involves enhancing academic skills and the ability to deal with the requirements and demands of courses and campus life. It also involves enhancing the ability to relate to other people, to form new relationships, act in an assertive manner and to take responsibility for one's actions.

Develop Autonomy
This involves being able to carry out activities and cope with problems that arise by learning about and using campus resources to enhance success. Emotional autonomy involves moving away form dependence on parents and family and moving toward peer supports and also realizing a sense of belonging to the University community.

Develop Healthy Interpersonal Relationships
This involves developing tolerance and appreciation for diversity among people and recognizing the differences as an asset rather than something to be feared or ridiculed. It also involves a shifting in interpersonal relationships with significant others and friends and a greater sense of responsibility for the consequences of these relationships as well as risk factors to self and others in relationships.

Clarify Purpose
This includes identifying a purpose for attending FSU and specific educational goals. It also involves clarifying purpose in relation to academics and co-curricular learning and career planning/ development process.
