The Student Learning Assessment Advisory Group (SLAAG)

The purpose of the Student Learning Assessment Advisory Group (SLAAG) is to advise the Provost regarding issues of student learning assessment. Other functions are outlined In the Faculty Governance section of the University's Faculty Handbook (PDF) on page C-67.

Membership in the 2008-2009 academic year includes:

  • Dr. Alan Bensley - Professor of Psychology
  • Mr. Johnston Hegeman - Assistant Vice President for Educational Services and Registrar
  • Dr. Paul Lyons - Professor of Management
  • Mr. Robert Smith, chair - Assistant Vice President for Planning and Assessment
  • Dr. Joyce Wheaton - Professor of Educational Professions

SLAAG Goals

In 2008-2009 the group has identified the following goals:

  • Refine the Purpose of the Student Learning Assessment Advisory Group.
  • Develop an inventory of current assessment plans and initiatives.
  • Make recommendations for the assessment of general education.
