The Student Learning Assessment Advisory Group

The Frostburg State University Student Learning Assessment Plan (PDF) explains that “Student learning assessment activities and initiatives are under the direct purview of the Student Learning Assessment Advisory Group (SLAAG), an entity reporting directly to the Provost as per the guidelines for advisory groups established in the charter of the Frostburg State University Faculty Senate” (p. 4).

The University’s Faculty Handbook (PDF) outlines, on page 244, the purpose and structure of the Student Learning Assessment Advisory Group: to identify strategies to support and improve student learning assessment and to advise the Provost on these issues.

Membership of SLAAG for the 2007-2008 academic year includes:

SLAAG Goals for 2007-2008

  1. Create a reporting format for the mid-year update as outlined in the reporting cycle that is a component of the Student Learning Assessment Plan (PDF) and the process of academic program review.

  2. Develop a recommendation for revision to syllabus format of the faculty handbook (page B-22) to align with accreditation guidelines.

  3. Develop appropriate communication techniques to communicate successes, challenges issues related to student learning assessment at Frostburg State University.
