Plant Facts - Pink lady slipper, Cypripedium acaule

  • These are often called pink lady slipper because of the pink flower that looks like a lady's slipper.
  • Some plants must grow for over 10 years before it flowers for the first time.
  • Pink lady's slippers cannot grow unless the soil in which they reside have a special kind of fungus.
  • Worms, beetles, slugs, and snails use the flower as shelter.
