Plant Facts - Goldenseal, Hydrastis canadensis

  • This is commonly called goldenseal because of the golden color of the roots.
  • Goldenseal root was used to dye clothing and skin yellow.
  • The fruit looks like a large raspberry but would be very bitter!!
