Greetings from the Campaign Committee Chair
On behalf of the Steering Committee for Staking Our Claim: The Campaign for Frostburg, I am pleased to provide you with very good news about the ongoing progress of our campaign as we head into its final year.
FY2010 has closed out as the strongest year of the campaign, with $3.2 million raised, surpassing the goal for the year by $1.17 million. Thanks to the generosity and commitment of our friends and supporters, we are now within $1.8 million of our $15 million campaign goal.
We are particularly gratified to see many of Frostburg’s alumni, friends, faculty and staff stepping up their giving in this current economic climate. It will be essential to maintain our momentum in this final year of the campaign. With the uncertainties of state funding and the nation’s economy overall, Frostburg State University and its students need everyone’s support more than ever.
The unrestricted Annual Fund, which helps the University fund its most critical and immediate needs, also had its strongest year of the campaign, bringing in more than $222,000. In addition, $16,800 was raised to support Forever Frostburg, a new emergency scholarship campaign developed this year in light of the challenging economy, which serves those students with the greatest need.
I feel confident there will be much more to celebrate in FY2011 as we keep this momentum going toward our goal. Follow our progress through the year by watching the thermometer on the right side of this page.
Please know that our campaign’s success speaks to your involvement and support, and everything it has accomplished on behalf of Frostburg State University.
Thank you for all that you do.
