Return on InvestmentThe community of support for the FSU Foundation is wide ranging and includes alumni, faculty, staff, students, friends, businesses, organizations - all interested in supporting and promoting Frostburg State University. The support of programs directly benefiting students has been the underlying theme of the Frostburg State University Foundation, Inc. Since its inception in the early 1970's, the foundation has been designated to administer private support for Frostburg State University through cash gifts, pledges, real property, gifts-in-kind, and planned gifts. The Foundation is registered as a not-for-profit corporation for the stated purpose of supporting the educational mission of Frostburg State University, and is recognized by the University System of Maryland Board of Regents as the "named affiliated foundation" for FSU. Annually, gifts and revenue generating activities to the FSU Foundation, Inc. exceed $3 million and transfers and payments in support of university programs exceed $1.5 million. Total assets have grown to over $13.5 million with a permanent endowment of $12.5 million. Over 300 scholarships with a value of $350,000 are awarded annually in addition to endowments supporting programs and activities. Interest in planned gifts and deferred giving continually increases and plays an important role in the future of Frostburg State University.
