Q: What is the Faculty/Staff Campaign Program?

A: The Faculty/Staff Campaign provides an opportunity for Frostburg State University faculty and staff members to make annual gifts to their favorite. initiatives or departments on campus.

Q: I already work here, why should I give?

A: As the people who work at FSU on a daily basis, you know the needs of the University, and are more keenly aware of areas that are in need of financial support that may not be as obvious to the external community.

Q: When will I receive my solicitation letter?

A: Letters are sent via campus mail in mid-October. The packet contains a State of Maryland payroll deduction card and FSUF contributor's card (PDF). Our fiscal year runs from July 1st to June 30th, we hope to have all non payroll deduction gifts in the system by the end of the fiscal year. Gifts are gladly accepted at any time during the year.

Q: Can I specify where my contribution should go?

A: Yes, the choice is yours! You may write in the name of the college, department, person or program you wish to designate your gift on the contribution card. Designated opportunities are listed in our Designated Funds area of this site. If you would like to make a gift to a fund that is not listed, you may contact the FSU Foundation at ext. 4161 for more information.

Q: Can I designate my gift to more than one area?

A: Yes. On the contributors card or the payroll deduction form you need to indicate the designated area and amount for each gift.

Q: How much should I give?

A: Support from faculty and staff shows a belief in Frostburg State University. We are not looking for a specific amount but a combined effort by all FSU employees to understand the importance of giving back to the University.
The focus of the Faculty & Staff Campaign is not how much faculty and staff give, but how many faculty and staff members demonstrate their commitment by giving, regardless of the size of the gift. Our focus is to increase participation striving for 100% with every member of the FSU family giving.

Q: Can I make an anonymous gift?

A: Yes. You will receive credit for the gift and receive a tax receipt but your name will not appear on our annual FSU Honor Roll of Donors. Your gift will count towards the 100% faculty and staff giving rate.

Q: Can I make a gift jointly with my spouse?

A: Yes. The contributors card provides the opportunity to make a joint gift with your spouse.

Q: What are my payment options?

A: Payroll Deduction (PDF) is available to all State of Maryland employees and allows you to have a portion of your gift automatically deducted from each paycheck. Other options are included under the Make a Gift section of this Web site.
