The Annual Fund

Each year, alumni, faculty, staff, friends, and parents give to Frostburg State University in response to special requests, direct mail appeals, and the FSU Phonathon. By giving to the Annual Fund, these generous donors support student financial aid, alumni programs, faculty development, and other critical, immediate needs of the University.

In fiscal year 2007, the Annual Fund transferred approximately $104,000 to Frostburg State University.

The Annual Fund provided $39,500 toward scholarships for undergraduate and graduate students.

The Annual Fund also provided approximately $40,000 to the Alumni Association, and was a major sponsor of the FSU Cultural Events Series and the Faculty Development Fund, including sponsorship of a prestigious award for outstanding faculty and staff members.

The Annual Fund supported the University by providing student jobs as well as student aid. $24,500 helped fund over 45 campus jobs last year. The Annual Fund also supported University development, Student Educational Services and student leadership programs.

The University received more than 1,600 contributions from alumni, parents, friends, FSU employees, and businesses for a total of over $104,000. Many of these contributions were collected by students, who made over 15,000 phone calls from a campus call center during the annual FSU Phonathon.

Last year, many donors doubled or tripled their personal gifts by simply contacting their employers’ personnel offices and requested matching gift forms.

Donors also increased the significance of their gifts by giving in memory or in honor of loved ones.

Frostburg State University needs Annual Fund gifts from alumni, faculty, staff, friends, and parents in order to remain financially stable.
