Have you heard what our clients say?
“I wanted to let you know how much I appreciate the tutoring services at FSU. I took Math 209 this semester and was very impressed by my tutor’s knowledge, patience, and dedication. He was very reliable and went out of his way to provide help and support. I have been out of school for over 20 years, so math was quite daunting for me. Without the tutor’s help, I would have dropped the class within the first week. The tutor had to start with the very basics and go from there. I didn't even know how to use my TI-83 calculator! Needless to say, he was my saving grace and I can't say enough about the high quality tutoring he provided.”

Content Peer Tutoring
The Center provides peer tutoring via appointments and walk-in to students experiencing difficulty in select 100 and 200-level courses. Peer tutoring is effective when students are enrolled in appropriate level courses, but are experiencing problems learning specific information.
Students who need tutoring in writing for any course receive assistance from peer tutors on an appointment basis. Peers tutors help students generate, organize, and develop ideas for assigned papers. Tutors also explain punctuation and grammar errors, as well as teach students how to proofread, document secondary sources, and address a host of other writing-related issues. However, writing tutors do not edit or proofread students’ papers. The goal is to provide quality assistance, tools, and resources to help students become confident, independent writers.
Select Course Tutoring
Students who need tutoring in select business, math, or science courses receive assistance from peer tutors on an appointment basis. The only exception is Computer Science courses, which are walk-in offerings. Tutors can address a host of issues, including a clearer understanding of content, developing better problem solving skills, offering study strategies, and clarifying assignments.
Tutoring provided by the professional staff assists students whose problems are more general than those addressed by peer tutoring. Some students need to improve their overall approach to learning and studying. Others need to develop specific studying and learning skills, such as textbook reading, note taking, time management, or test preparation in order to cope with the expectations of courses.
