H1N1 Vaccine Clinic for FSU Students

The first H1N1 flu vaccine clinic will be held on Sunday, November 8, 2009, from 3 pm to 7 pm in the PE center, Lower Level Gym. This clinic is for CURRENT STUDENTS ONLY who meet the CDC criteria for vaccination at this time. For this clinic, the vaccine administration fee will be waived; there will be no charge. Both the injectable form and the intranasal form (nasal spray) will be available. Information sheets about each of the vaccines are available through the following links:

2009 H1N1 Influenza Inactivated Vaccine (flu shot)
2009 H1N1 Influenza Live Attenuated Vaccine (nasal spray)

Students MUST bring their FSU photo ID to the clinic.

Students should wear short sleeved or sleeveless tops to make vaccination easier. Students who are under the age of 18 will need to have their parent or legal guardian accompany them to the clinic to sign the consent. If that can not be arranged, those students should call Brady Health Center (301-687-4310) for other arrangements to be made.

Those students who may be vaccinated include:

  • Any students who are age 24 or under
  • All students with qualifying medical conditions as asthma, diabetes, immune suppression, chronic heart disease (other than high blood pressure), chronic lung disease, chronic kidney or liver disease, neurological disease
  • Pregnant women
  • Students who live with or provide care to infants less than 6 months of age

Additional vaccination clinics will be scheduled once more vaccine becomes available.

Campus update on H1N1 flu -10/14/09

September 2009

The seasonal flu vaccine clinics were a resounding success with more than double the students, faculty and staff receiving vaccination than in previous years. Brady Health Center currently has some doses of the seasonal flu nasal vaccine (FluMist) still in stock and we are awaiting delivery of additional doses of the inactivated seasonal vaccine (flu shot.)

The H1N1 flu vaccine is expected to arrive in late October and notification will be made once it is available. We will be following CDC guidelines for the administration of that vaccine once it becomes available. See questions and answers about the H1N1 vaccine for further information
