According to the Center for Disease Control, heart disease is the leading cause of death in the United States. The lack of physical activity can lead to heart disease at any age. CHILL wants Frostburg State to increase its heart health this month by staying active in these frigid temperatures.
From February 1 to March 1, CHILL is hosting a “Be Heart Smart” program where all Bobcats will be encouraged to keep track of their daily fitness activities through utilizing the American Heart Association’s Start! program. This free online program will allow participants to join the Frostburg State network and document the frequency and intensity of aerobic exercise.
Every participant is a winner! Each participant that accurately documents weekly required exercise, which equates to 2.5 hours a week of moderate level aerobic exercise, will be eligible to receive a free CHILL t-shirt.
All participants will be contacted at the end of each week with the current standings.
