Tickets are officially on sale for our magical Storybook holiday Events!

Breakfst with the Elves commences at the Gunter Hotel at 8am and 8.45am. 

The annual Film screening will take place at 8pm at the stunning Palace Theatre, where you can relax and be enchanted by our showing of "Christmas in Connecticut" (1945)

All tickets cost only $5 and are available at Main street Books.

Hug a book Month at the CLC!


The CLC is proud to introduce our latest and most exciting event for spring, as April 2015 will be "Hug a book Month" at the CLC. The most huggable and enchanting events will be later announced to celebrate the success of Scott Campbell's newest publication, "Hug Machine". #hugabookmonth

The Children's Literature Centre was created to promote literacy by:

  • Providing a focal point for the study and dissemination of children's literature.
  • Serving as the catalyst for new and innovative approaches to building the foundations of literacy through technology.
  • Developing positive attitudes toward reading through a collaborative network including home, school and community.
  • Working to cultivate an awareness and understanding of current children's literature, authors and illustrators.
  • Building a bridge to cultural understanding through children's literature.
