The 33rd Annual Spring Festival of Children's Literature will be held on April 24th-25th, 2015

 

Save the Date

The following authors and illustrators will be featured at this year's Festival: Brian Floca, Deborah Hopkinson, Matt Phelan and Scott Campbell. Professional Development Workshops will be showcased, incorporating trending educational themes to the Common Core framework. Continuing Professional Development Credits can also be earned by Maryland and Pennsylvania Educators.

Thank you to everyone who made this year's Storybook Holiday such a vast success! We couldn't be happier with the turnout, despite the nasty weather. We'll see everyone next year!

Hug a book Month at the CLC!

The CLC is proud to introduce our latest and most exciting event for spring, as April 2015 will be "Hug a book Month" at the CLC. The most huggable and enchanting events will be later announced to celebrate the success of Scott Campbell's newest publication, "Hug Machine". #hugabookmonth

The Children's Literature Centre was created to promote literacy by:

  • Providing a focal point for the study and dissemination of children's literature.
  • Serving as the catalyst for new and innovative approaches to building the foundations of literacy through technology.
  • Developing positive attitudes toward reading through a collaborative network including home, school and community.
  • Working to cultivate an awareness and understanding of current children's literature, authors and illustrators.
  • Building a bridge to cultural understanding through children's literature.
