Adopt-A-School Program

As part of our mission to spread children's literature, the CLC has recently decided to collaborate with local schools to help spread the Centre's contagious love for reading.  As part of this project, Centre staff visits that year's selected school to read literature to the students. The children are also provided with opportunities to attend age-specific presentations by noted authors or illustrators.

We are looking for our new

2017-2019 Adopt-a-School

Stay tuned for more information and forms!

 Congratulations to the 2015-2017 Adopt-A-School:

Bel Air Elementary

The Centre staff is looking forward to learning alongside your students and faculty!

The CLC staff would like to thank last year's    adopt-a-school, South Penn Elementary! We have enjoyed working with your student's and staff!

Author & Illustrator Visits

Emily Kate Moon

2014 CLC Book Award Winner, Emily Kate Moon, traveled to South Penn Elementary. There, she read her book, Joone, and also drew an illustration from the book with students.

Be sure to check out her blog to hear how much fun she had at South Penn!

Janet Stoeke

Our Storybook Holiday author, Janet Stoeke, also made a visit to South Penn in December! She introduced the students to her well known character, Minerva Louise, and helped the students create their own story while illustrating it for them on the white board!

Our Spring Festival author, Matt Phelan, will visit South Penn on April 24th!

CLC Staff Visits

Each month, the CLC Staff visits the Adopt-A-School to read to students. They promote new and upcoming books in children's literature.
