Choosing
a major and career path is one of the most rewarding and challenging decisions
you will face through out your college experience. When you think about it, however,
the decision is not etched in stone and can change through out your education
and lifetime. So relax, clear your mind, and consider these three important steps
in finding your fit in the world of work.
Let's
get started, register with the Career
Services Office. This will allow us to know your interest and assist you
in your career development needs. You may upload your resume also. Step
1: Self Assessment: Make Your Career Decision Your Own -
Choose a major that suits you; not your parents, friends, or
society

Talk to a career counselor in the
Office of Career Services about your major/career choices

Assess your interests, abilities, likes and dislikes
The DISCOVER program is
web based. These are comprehensive self-guided interest inventories to help students
identify and match their skills, values and interests with various career options.
DISCOVER contains updated information on occupations, college majors, training
institutions, financial aid/scholarship information, and military options. Contact
the Office of Career Services to receive your User ID and for assistance with
interpreting the results.

Career Key: This is a helpful inventory of interests linking to different
career and occupational fields
The Keirsey Temperament Sorter II:Assess how your personality preferences/style
may describe the type of person you are. It is important to find out how your

and study
