All FSU students with a documented disability are eligible for the DSS program. A disability
is a condition of impairment, mental or physical, permanent or temporary, which substantially
limits one or more of a person’s major life activities, such as education, employment, and/or
recreation. The following is not an extensive list but provides many examples of conditions
which would qualify a student for the DSS program.
In order to receive disability services, the student is required to provide documentation of her/his disability by following one of those procedures outlined in Requesting Disability Services. This documentation should be consistent with those guidelines stated in Documentation Requirements. Students who qualify for the DSS program are not eligible for all those services provided by DSS. Services must be disability-related, and disability-related is contingent upon the documented nature of the disability and those functional limitations accompanying the disability.
