PASS Staff
The PASS staff is dedicated to providing the essential tools necessary for a student’s success in college.  The staff is made up of courteous, friendly, and supportive professionals who strive to create a positive and productive atmosphere for FSU students.  All relevant contact information is below:

Jay is the Assistant Vice President for Educational Services and Registrar.  His responsibilities include providing leadership for a constellation of services and programs designed to help students overcome academic, cultural, and disability-related barriers to higher education. He is also the University Registrar.

Beth directs the Developmental Mathematics Programs offered by PASS.  She received her B.S. in Math from Frostburg State University and her M.S. in Math from West Virginia University.  She serves as Lead Instructor and Program Director for DVMT courses.  She hires, trains, and supervises DVMT Instructors, plans and develops curriculum, manages course offerings, and tracks students' success in DVMT courses.  Beth also teaches Introduction to Higher Education classes for incoming freshman.  Her other duties include tutoring students in mathematics and serving as an academic advisor to selected students.

Rachel is the Director of Academic Skills Development for the PASS office.  She received both her B.A. and Master's in Sociology from Texas Tech University.  She participates in a comprehensive academic support system by offering basic skills in reading and study skills development. She is also responsible for establishing, managing, and providing services designed to improve students’ basic skills development and study skills.  She also designs adjunct, supplementary programs to increase classroom success.  Rachel teaches Critical Reading and the University’s first year experience course, serves as an academic advisor to students, coordinates learning communities designed for underprepared students, and coordinates and teaches Phoenix, a program designed to help students on conditional academic probation.

Mark is the Director of the FSU Tutoring Center.  He holds a Master’s in English and a B.A. in History from West Virginia University.  He also has minors in philosophy and journalism.  He recruits, hires, and trains tutors, participates in the coordination of persistence programs, conducts tutoring services workshops, and teaches Introduction to Higher Education Courses and Freshman Composition.

Lois is the office manager for PASS.  She received her A.A. in Secretarial Science from now Allegany College of Maryland.  Lois oversees the daily operation of the office, supervises office staff, maintains data files, and conducts academic skills testing. 

   

Carol Davis

Carol is the administrative assistant for Disability Support Services (DSS), as well as an assistant for PASS and the Tutoring Center.  She holds a B.S. degree in Psychology and a M.S. degree in Counseling Psychology.  She has twenty-five years of experience as a testing specialist and an advising and career counselor.  She has also taught English, Reading, and Psychology.
