Tutoring at Frostburg State University

PASS offers group and individual peer tutoring for students experiencing difficulty learning in 100 and 200 level courses.  Tutoring is effective when students are enrolled in appropriate level courses but are experiencing problems learning specific information.  Groups - organized with faculty teaching the courses - meet periodically throughout the week on a walk-in basis.  Individual tutoring is arranged with upper-level peers upon recommendation from an instructor or advisor.

Professional tutoring is provided to assist students with general learning and study skills.  Some students need to develop specific skills such as textbook reading, note-taking, time management or test preparation, in order to cope with the expectations of college courses.

You may sign up for peer tutoring by filling out our tutor referral form.  You will need to have your professor or academic advisor sign the referral form before you come to the Learning Assistance Center to request tutoring.  All the necessary forms can be downloaded online from the tutor forms page.  In order to download these forms, you will need Adobe Acrobat Reader.  If, for any reason, you have difficulty downloading this form, you can pick one up at the Learning Assistance Center, Pullen Hall Room 150.
