Frostburg State University’s Center for Creative Writing will host its Savage Mountain Creative Writing Workshop from Sunday, June 16, to Saturday, June 22. Participants will choose from one of two concentrations, poetry and fiction. The seminar-style workshops will be taught by poet Michelle Yost and fiction writer Jessica Growden. The workshop is open to high school students ages 15 through 18. 

Frostburg State University will host a Summer Photo Workshop from Monday, June 17, through Saturday, June 22, at the FSU campus for high school juniors and seniors. Students must have a digital camera. Participants will experience six days of intensive instruction in photography by Robert Hein, FSU assistant professor of Visual Arts. They will learn to understand and use their digital cameras for more than just snapshots and to edit their photography in Photoshop. At the conclusion of the workshop, they will have a summary print exhibit on campus and will receive a certificate. 

Frostburg State University’s Disability Support Services Office awarded its first DSS award for Exemplary Service to Students With Disabilities to Dr. Lance Revennaugh, a professor in the Department of Mathematics, at a reception on May 9.
