Goals and Select Action Priorities


  1. Develop new programs to respond to emerging needs and to workforce shortage areas. (Aligns with University Strategic Plan Goal #1 and Academic Affairs Strategic Plan Goal #4.)

    1. Continue planning for Nurse Practitioner Program.

    2. Continue planning for Physician's Assistant Program.

    3. Plan future growth in additional rural health care programming.

  2. Enhance student recruitment and retention efforts. (Aligns with University Strategic Plan Goals #2 and #3 and Academic Affairs Strategic Pan Goal #1.)

    1. Identify program bottlenecks and develop corrective actions.

    2. Increase course/program redesign efforts to achieve greater effectiveness and efficiency.

    3. Enhance classroom instructional environment to support improved student learning.

  3. Promote and support activities of educational distinction. (Aligns with University Strategic Plan Goals #1 and #5 and Academic Affairs Strategic Plan Goal #3.)

    1. Encourage and support faculty implementation of experiential learning.

    2. Encourage and support sustainability initiatives.

    3. Support faculty research, creative activities, and regional engagement activities, especially those involving students.

    4. Encourage and support interdisciplinary learning opportunities.

  4. Recruit and retain diverse and talented faculty and staff. (Aligns with University Strategic Plan Goal #4 and Academic Affairs Strategic Plan Goal #2.)

  5. Serve as a collaborative partner in cultural, social, and economic development, including K-12 outreach to the local community, the region, and the state. (Aligns with University Strategic Plan Goal #6.)

  6. Promote and support a culture of assessment within CLAS which is critical for our Middle States accreditation. (Aligns with University Strategic Plan Goals #1 and #3 and Academic Affairs Strategic Plan Goals #2, #3, and #4.)
