Construction Update 3/2012

Gilbane is planning to install the temporary road off of Environmental Drive into the Framptom parking lot the week of March 12-16. Their goal is to have it completed by March 16, weather permitting. They will provide temporary safety fencing and maintain traffic as needed, but they will not have the full area fenced off so they can work effectively. There should be no major vehicular or pedestrian traffic problems from this construction. 

Gilbane plans to have the new stairway and ADA ramps between Tawes and PAC open when students return on March 26. The actual work on the new ramps and steps should be completed by March 23. Working toward this goal, Gilbane will need to close the existing ADA ramp between Dunkle and Tawes the week of spring break. This will result in the only ADA access to the upper quad that week being around the front of or through PAC or up the University Drive sidewalk.

Other work could include the installation of underground utilities and starting the building demolition on Tawes Hall. We will continue to send out these construction updates until the construction of CCIT is completed. Thanks for your patience and cooperation throughout the project.
