Frostburg Museum Exhibition on Cultural Icons in Our Society Coffee

Honor Student Frostburg Museum Exhibition on Cultural Icons in Our Society Coffee

Department: Visual Arts
Symposium Year: 2013
Student(s): Garrett Minnick
Faculty Mentor(s): Ms. Judith Dieruf

As an art major in college preparing to graduate, It is imperative that I create a style that is all my own and allows me to stand out from other illustrators in my field.  By doing so, I will be awarded job opportunities and a successful career. The series being displayed for the symposium showcases some of the experimental techniques I have used in the attempt to create a style which stands out.  My work showcases a mixture of graphite and ink.  These two mediums allow me to combine realism and abstraction in a way which can still be used to convey a story line while also being viewed as individual works of art.
