Mixed metal oxides can be used as photoredox materials for hydrogen generation. However, the number of possible mixed metal oxides is infinite. A scanning laser spectrometer built from LEGO Mindstorms® kits will be used to allow for high-throughput screening of mixed metal oxides. Currently, communication problems between the computer and the LEGO apparatus have prevented the collection of data, and all effort has been focused on diagnosing and repairing these problems.
