France in Focus

Frostburg State University’s College of Business is taking another bold step in internationalizing its curriculum this summer as part of its Global Experiential Learning initiative.

The scheduled summer 2016 trip will be France in Focus. This trip will run from June 1 through June 11, 2016.

As part of this faculty-led academic experience, students will have an opportunity to learn about a variety of exciting developments in the culture, history and economy of France. As a renowned center of Western thought, France is a major world power and a significant contributor in the fields of science and technology, trade and economics, philosophy and the arts. Students will gain first hand experience from the world’s fifth largest economy and one of only five permanent members of the United Nations. France is at an interesting crossroads of contemporary history where it must grapple with intersecting challenges of demographics and economics; of racial integration and unemployment; and envision a role for its youth that extends its global dominance in the 21st century. Along the way participants will experience the country’s rich and varied grandeur with visits to important historical and cultural landmarks, an educational partner institution as well as area business.
