Master of Business Administration
2008-2010 Program Change
s

The FSU College of Business MBA program has reorganized its course offerings, with full implementation beginning Fall 2008.

The program change effects only the “Essentials” requirements in the 2008-2010 Graduate catalog and replaces the six three-credit “Essentials” courses with ten one-credit “Essentials” courses designated by the BUAD discipline code. For students admitted into the Master of Business Administration program under the 2008-2010 FSU Graduate Catalog, the MBA Essentials consists of ten courses carrying one credit hour each (10 hours) that can be waived if the applicant has taken equivalent courses as an undergraduate or has credit for similar courses in another graduate program. The second section, Required MBA Core, consists of 12 courses of three credit hours each (36 hours). The program has a number of prerequisites in the required core. The Required MBA Core courses have not been affected by the change.

Current MBA Students
In order to receive an MBA degree from Frostburg State University, you must meet the graduation requirements of the catalog year of your acceptance into the program. As a result of a major revision to the MBA program, it may be beneficial to a number of students to substitute the requirements listed in the new 2008-2010 Graduate catalog for those which appear in the catalog of your entry year. In order to substitute the new set of graduation requirements, you must apply in writing to the Director of Graduate Services and request a formal transfer to the new 2008-2010 Graduate catalog. Once this request is approved, it is irrevocable. If you choose not to transfer to the new catalog and have outstanding Essential requirements that must be met based on your current catalog requirements, you must request course substitutions for any outstanding Essential coursework that you have been required to take in order to meet the graduation requirements of your current catalog. You must submit your request in writing for course substitutions to the Office of Graduate Services. This request will be forwarded to your Program Coordinator for formal approval and you will be notified by mail of the decision.

Program Progression

All courses are offered in both locations (Frostburg campus and USM at Hagerstown); however, every course may not be offered in every semester. progression through the MBA program needs to be consistent with the individual course prerequisites as outlined in the Graduate Catalog.
