Interim Dean's Message

Dear Students, Alumni, and Friends of the College,

What a great honor to share this message with you as Interim Dean of the College of Business. I am truly grateful for the opportunity to work with a team of faculty and staff who hold the quality of education for our students to an exceptionally high degree. I am proud to be a part of the College of Business which supports and values collegiality, collaboration, and professional relationships based on mutual respect. All of the programs offered by the College of Business are accredited by AACSB, which is the highest external validation of excellence that a business school can achieve.

AACSB is an organization that focuses only on accrediting excellence in business schools. Of approximately 1,600 business programs in the United States, only about one-third are accredited. FSUBusiness faculty, staff, our Advisory Boards, and the FSU Administration all played important roles in the arduous, but rewarding, process of achieving this accreditation.

The College established an Executive Council (CEC) that is comprised of the Dean, Associate Dean, the Graduate Program Coordinator, and Chairs of its four departments (Accounting, Economics, Management, and Marketing and Finance). The CEC seeks input from the College of Business Advisory Board, faculty, staff, and students in order to discuss various issues and initiate changes for continuous improvement of our programs and the overall quality of life for all in the college.

To our prospective students, I ask you to join us and benefit from the high quality graduate and undergraduate business programs in a caring and supportive learning environment with highly qualified administrators, faculty, and staff.

Our Assurance of Learning program, coordinated by Dr. Paul Lyons, and with the involvement of the entire College faculty, has been designed to ensure that our students achieve the desired learning goals in our programs. The purpose is to teach our students the knowledge and the skills that they need for success in the highly competitive global environment.
