Accounting Association

The mission of the FSU Accounting Association is to promote interest in the field of accounting, educate the student population, appreciate the discipline of accounting, demand high ideals in accounting, recruit students into accounting and related fields and encourage contact with FSU alumni.

Beta Gamma Sigma International Honor Society

Beta Gamma Sigma
Beta Gamma Sigma is an international honor society recognizing the outstanding achievements of students enrolled in collegiate business and management programs accredited by AACSB International - The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. Membership in the Society is the highest recognition a business student anywhere in the world can receive in a baccalaureate or post-baccalaureate program in business.

The mission of Beta Gamma Sigma is to encourage and honor academic achievement in the study of business, to foster personal and professional excellence, to advance the values of the Society, and to serve its lifelong members. The Society invites students to join annually. Membership provides valuable benefits for members on campus and throughout their professional careers.

Delta Sigma Pi
Professional Business Co-Ed Fraternity

Delta Sigma Pi

Delta Sigma Pi is a professional fraternity organized to foster the study of business in universities; to encourage scholarship, social activity and the association of students for their mutual advancement by research and practice; to promote closer affiliation between the commercial world and students of commerce, and to further a higher standard of commercial ethics and culture and the civic and commercial welfare of the community.

The Phi Sigma Upsilon colony will be installed as the Omicron Chi chapter of Delta Sigma Pi on April 21, 2007.

Delta Sigma Pi is a well-recognized organization with over 200 chapters established nationally and over 200,000 members. The year 2007 is Delta Sigma Pi's centennial year!

All FSUBusiness students (undergraduate and MBA) in good academic standing and with at least 12 credits at FSU are eligible for membership during the recruiting period each semester.

Entrepreneurship (CEO) Club FSU Entrepreneurship Club

Entrepreneurship involves the establishment of one's own enterprise, through the development of leadership skills, creativity, and problem solving.

For any student who has ever thought about starting his or her own business, the entrepreneurship club could open the doors to financial freedom and independence!

Mission Statement:

The FSU Entrepreneurship Club shall bring together all members of the University community interested in entrepreneurship, promote and facilitate the study and practice of entrepreneurship, connect student members with experienced alumni and local entrepreneurs, encourage interest in innovation and enterprise creation and develop aspiring entrepreneurs into motivated, ethical, and dynamic business leaders.

Finance Club

Marketing Association

Members of the FSU Marketing Association become collegiate members of the American Marketing Association's (AMA) Collegiate Organization. As AMA Collegiate Chapter members, students must foster chapter professionalism and cohesiveness. AMA Collegiate membership is available to any/all full-time or part-time student attending a regionally or nationally accredited academic institution of higher learning.

AMA Collegiate dues are $35 annually. Membership introduces students to the leading association of marketing professionals at a significantly reduced rate. Membership fees include a one-year subscription to Marketing News.

Omicron Delta Epsilon
Economics International Honor Society

Omicron Delta Epsilon

Omicron Delta Epsilon recognizes the scholastic attainment and the honoring of outstanding achievements in Economics. The Society establishes close ties between students and faculty in Economics within colleges and universities. The Society also publishes an official journal, The American Economist, as well sponsors panels at professional meetings and competitions.

Chapter activities vary widely, ranging from invited speakers, group discussions, dinners, meetings, and field trips to special projects such as review sessions and tutoring for students in economics.

The minimum requirements for admission to Omicron Delta Epsilon are:

Completion of 12 semester hours of economics courses
Attainment of at least a 'B' average in economics courses and an overall 'B' average (i.e., 3.0)
Students do not have to be economics majors, but must have a genuine interest in economics in addition to meeting the above requirements
The minimum requirements may be raised by local chapters
Graduate students in Economics are judged solely on their graduate work. They must have completed one semester of full time work, with attainment of a 'B' or better average.

Society for the Advancement of ManagementSAM Club

Society for Human Resource Management

SHRM

SHRM is a national and international association dedicated to human resource management.

The association's missions are to 'serve the needs of human resource professionals by providing the most essential and comprehensive resources available' and 'to advance the human resource professional to ensure that HR is recognized as an essential partner in developing and executing organizational strategy.

Students involved in the chapter will be eligible for scholarships, internships, networking, training, jobs, and possibly mentoring. Since the association is national and international, students may attend conferences and meet with professionals outside the University.

VITA Program
Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program

VITA- a chance for students to help people in the community who need assistance with their tax returns. You'll get free IRS training and on-the-spot satisfaction from becoming a VITA volunteer.

Who needs my help?

Those who have a limited income
Other students
Individuals with disabilities
Non-English speaking persons
Those who are elderly

You can qualify to volunteer if you:

Can meet and deal with a variety of people,
Have experience or can learn about preparing tax returns,
Can perform general administrative functions,
Take pride in complete and accurate work,
Are willing to complete the IRS training program,

Can spend several hours a week on VITA from February 1 through April 15.
