FSU Credentials (Network Accounts)

The network account is the core of computing access at FSU. All employees and students are given access to the University network when they are enrolled or employed.

Each person is given an FSU username and password which provides managed and secure network access (this is your FSU Credentials or network account). Furthermore, access to the University's integrated online systems & services is controlled through your network account.

Getting a Network Account

  • Requests for employee accounts are initiated by HR (with direction from the employing unit). Please be aware that the Information Technology Department (ITD) must have a signed “Certification of Security” (COS) form on file before accounts requests can be processed. Once your COS form is received by ITD, it will be processed in a timely manner.
  • Request for student accounts are automatically generated by the student information system (PAWS).

Your Network Username & Password

When your network account is created you will be assigned a unique FSU username and password. The format for usernames and password information follows.

Username:

To determine your username, visit the 'New User' utility

Password:

When your account is created, you will be assigned a default password. If for some reason you do not know your password, use the 'Forgot Password?' utility to reset your password.

Alternatively, you may contact the FSU Help Desk to reset your password. To eliminate the risk of identity theft, the Help Desk staff will not reset your password over the phone. You will be asked to show photo id to have your password reset.

Using your Network Account

You must use your FSU username and password (your network account) to log in to any computer attached to the University's network, including all academic lab computers.

Once connected to the University's network, you will use your FSU username and password to log in to the University's integrated systems & services.
