Discount Software - Maryland Enterprise Licensing Agreement

The University System of Maryland has taken leadership in putting together the Maryland Education Enterprise Consortium (MEEC), a voluntary agreement among public and independent higher education and county school systems. Frostburg State University is part of the MEEC.

The first activity of the consortium was to work out a comprehensive, non-exclusive licensing contract with Microsoft. The standard desktop software license covers the latest version of Microsoft Office (Professional, Standard, and Macintosh versions) and an upgrade to the current operating system. A second agreement with Network Associates, Inc. makes McAfee Antivirus software available to students, faculty and staff.

An agreement with e-Academy allows FSU students to order this software through a secure on-line store with a valid VISA or MasterCard. The McAfee Antivirus software is available through the FSU Bookstore.

Students and Faculty/Staff can log onto the secure store at http://elms08.e-academy.com/frostburg. Your username is your FSU e-mail address (jdoe0@frostburg.edu) and your password was e-mailed to this account. If you do not know your password, go to the e-Academy site, click on the Login icon and follow the directions under Login Help.

The Microsoft faculty and staff agreement provides a license to use MS Office while employed at FSU. If an employee retires or leaves University employment, the license is terminated and the software must be removed from your personal computer.

Note: Faculty and staff requiring a new installation or upgrade of the MS software on their office computer should contact the Help Desk at 301/687-7777.
