Getting Help >> Network Storage System:
On-Campus access instruction for Staff/Faculty
Each faculty/staff member is assigned space
on the SAN when their network account is created. This space is commonly
referred to as the
H:/ drive.
- PC users can follow
the instructions listed below.
To access your storage space on the SAN from a computer
on-campus, you must first use your FSU username and password (your
network account) to
log in
to the University's network.
Then click on the My Computer icon on your computer
desktop. You will see the H:\ drive listed as one of the available
Network drives. Doubleclick on the H:\ to view your network storage
area.
You can copy and save files to the H:/ from any program
just as you would save them to your desktop or to your C:\ drive.
Note: For most staff, any files and data that you save to your My Documents
folder
are stored on the H:\ drive as this is where the My Documents folder
sits. To make sure the files in your My Documents folder are being
stored on the H:\ drive, right click on the My Documents icon on your
Desktop,
choose Properties. In the Target field you should see H:\My Documents. If your location is different, contact
the
Help Desk.
- Access instructions for Macintosh users are
accessible from the Network
Storage Area Access web page.
Contact the Help Desk if you need assistance accessing
or using your storage
space
on the SAN.
