Lab Assistants
Student computer lab assistants are often available to help users with computer problems, network problems, and basic questions about using network software. Lab assistants do not assist with assignment completion or programming logic. The lab assistant station is located in Pullen Hall hallway outside room 108.

Lab Machine Problems
You may report campus computer lab problems using the online problem report form, or follow the shortcut labeled "Report a Problem with a Lab Computer" on the desktop.

Use of Computing Facilities for Non-FSU Activities
FSU is committed to supporting community computing activities. To inquire about reserving a lab, please contact the Office of Conferences and Events at 301/687-4020.

Lab Reservations
Instructors may reserve one of six lab classrooms in Pullen Hall for scheduled classes, conferences, demonstrations, and other group activities. While a class is in session, that room is closed to all other users.

Note that the public use lab in Pullen Hall (Pullen 106) cannot be reserved for classes. This lab remains accessible to all FSU students during all open lab hours.

Complete an online request or contact the Office of Academic Computing at 301/687-7090 to request a lab reservation. It is the responsibility of the FSU instructor to make any necessary lab reservations.

Special Software Installation Requests & Class Accounts

Special software needed for specific classes can be installed for student use. Only officially licensed FSU software will be installed. Proof of license or Public Domain status is required.

The instructor is responsible for contacting the OAC to request the installation of special software at least three weeks in advance. Additional time may be needed if software must be ordered prior to installation. Class software installed at the instructor's request remains on the network for the duration of the class.

Each computer user must have access to a personal or class account in order to use lab or personal computers and some FSU computing services (such as e-mail). If special access accounts are (or may) be needed, it is the responsibility of the instructor to contact OAC at least two weeks in advance to arrange the creation of these accounts.
