Web Application Development Standards

Any department considering developing a database-supported web application must get the required approvals before commencing work on the project. Contact the Office of Academic Computing for information on the steps you must take to make a formal request and begin the review process. This could be a lengthy process since many factors must be considered.

At a minimum, the University Information Technology Department must approve the project. Depending on the nature of the project, further approvals may be required from entities such as the Web Advisory Group, Executive Officers, and General Counsel.

The unit requesting approval for a project will be required to provide a detailed project specification as well as any other information required for the request to be thoroughly considered.
