Welcome to Course Redesign at Frostburg State University

(Updated 9/28/08)

Course Redesign at FSU was started from USM's Maryland Course Redesign Initiative (MCRI). This effort also relates to the Effectiveness and Efficiency program from the USM Office of the Senior Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs. In addition, course redesign was based on a recommendation of the Spellings Commission on The Future of Higher Education.

USM has been working with the National Center for Academic Transformation (NCAT) to help departments at each of the 11 universities choose ideal courses for redesign. NCAT is recognized as a national leader in helping faculty members redesign courses that achieve these goals:

  1. Effective use of information technology

  2. Improvement of student learning outcomes

  3. Reduction in the cost of higher education

This website has been created to help faculty, staff, and administrators learn more about course redesign.
