Frostburg State University's 3 AM Society is the school's one and only organization dedicated to creative writers. The Society now meets weekly at The Frostburg Center for Creative Writing for workshops where students can drink coffee in a comfortable atmosphere while discussing works of poetry, prose and creative non-fiction.
The 3 AM Society is also involved with the community. Throughout the semester, the society will be coordinating readings in schools and libraries that will be open to the public. The goal of these readings is to encourage local writers and students to share their work with peers and promote creative writing in Frostburg and its surrounding communities. The 3 AM Society was responsible for an annual Window Boy fundraiser at Main Street Books.
Additionally, the group will be meeting with visiting writers in order to have the opportunity to personally discuss writing with well-known authors.
