Spooky Short Story Contest!

October, 2008

The Frostburg Center for Creative Writing is happy to announce its First Annual Spooky Short-Short Story Contest to help celebrate Halloween.

Students and community members are invited to submit a scary story under 750 words to nightsun@frostburg.edu
by Oct. 15 with the subject heading “spooky story.” Attachments should be in Microsoft Word (.doc) document formatting (no .docx files, please).

Stories will be judged by noted horror author Michael Arnzen on originality, style, imagination and scariness, and winners will receive a $25 gift certificate from Main Street Books in Frostburg as well as publication on the Center's web site.

All participants are invited to read their scary stories at a reading to be held on Tuesday, Oct. 28, at 7 p.m. in the FSU Lane Center, Room 201. Costumes are optional but encouraged. Candy will be provided!
Everyone is invited to join us for a celebration of local scary authors!
