In conjunction with the Allegany Arts Council, the Frostburg Center for Creative Writing is proud to host its seventh annual Art & Writing Workshop--a program for artists who need to write and creative writers who love art.
Featuring faculty who are practicing artists and writers in their own right, the workshops will provide students with the skills necessary to write about their own art or about the art they love.
Frostburg State University's Center for Creative writing is hosting an Art and Writing Workshop that will instruct students how to bind two media together -- art and the written word. Ashley Andersen, a recent graduate of FSU, and Dr. Elizabeth Savage, a English professor at Fairmont State University, will be teaching at the event held Saturday, 03/2 at 12:30p.m.-4:30p.m in Dunkle Hall rooms 215 and 218. Andersen will teach traditional art techniques used in making broadsides -- posters of individual poems, and Dr. Savage will teach ways to approach writing and reading ekphrastic poetry which is poetry based on and inspired by artwork. Please bring your own materials.
