FSU Department of chemistry welcomes interim lab manager
Lab manager Sherrie Noonan has resigned to move on to bigger and better things. We wish her luck and welcome interim lab manager, Ms. Sara Daskal.
FSU Graduates 14 Chemistry Students
On May 19, 2012, at FSU's 140th Commencent, 9 Chemistry Majors and 5 Chemistry Minors graduated. The Class of 2012 includes two members of the President's Leadership Circle, two graduates of the Sloop Institute for Excellence in Leadership, two graduates with Departmental Honors (Biology and Chemistry), two graduates with Honors in General Education, and nine individuals graduating Cum Laude, Magna Cum Laude, or Summa Cum Laude.
FSU chemistry students and faculty to participate in upcoming university events
SMACS will be leading an activity at the Western MD Science and Engineering Festival on Saturday, April 21.
15 Chemistry students, working with 5 Chemistry faculty, will present nine undergraduate research posters at the CLAS Undergraduate Research Symposium on Friday, May 4.
FSU chemistry students to present at national meeting in San Diego
Abstracts submitted by Marcus Carter and Sarah Russell have been accepted by the American Chemical Society. Marcus and Sarah will be presenting their undergraduate research at the Society's 243rd National Meeting and Exposition in San Diego in March 2012. Congratulations Marcus and Sarah! (Fall 2011)
Dr. Matthew Crawford joins the Department
We are pleased to welcome Dr. Matthew Crawford to the Department. Dr. Crawford is a Frostburg alum, and recently finished his Ph.D. in Chemistry at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh. (Fall 2011)
