Welcome to the web site for the Economics Department at Frostburg State University. Economics courses emphasize critical analysis, practical problem solving, effective communication, and the appropriate use of technology.
The Economics Department excels at serving those who benefit from personalized attention, such as first-generation college students. We do this by offering small classes taught primarily by full-time faculty who emphasize active and intensive learning experiences and theory-based practical applications.
Students may major in economics without pursuing a specialized concentration; or they may pursue a concentration in Business Economics, Public Policy Economics, or Quantitative Economics.
The department also houses the regional Center for Economic Education and the Center for Regional Progress, and (in cooperation with Marietta College) publishes Classroom Expernomics.
