Information for Maryland Administrative Endorsement with Existing Master's Degree

Pursuant to regulations found in the Code of Maryland Regulations (COMAR), 13A.12.04.04, qualified Master's Degree persons may add an Administrator I endorsement to an existing Maryland teaching licensure by completing the prescribed areas of study. Frostburg State University facilitates this professional growth avenue by offering coursework aligned with COMAR standards, as follows. Refer to the COMAR link above for all requirements.

CATEGORY 1: Curriculum, instruction, and assessment (3 credits)

  • CUIN 649   CURRICULUM EVALUATION (3 credits)
  • EDUC 640  CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT (3 credits)

CATEGORY 2: Development, observation and evaluation (3 credits)

  • EDSU 643 FOUNDATIONS OF EDUCATIONAL SUPERVISION (3 credits)
  • EDSU 604 SUPERVISION IN THE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL (3 credits)
  • EDSU 605 SUPERVISION IN THE SECONDARY SCHOOL (3 credits)

CATEGORY 3: Legal issues and ethical decision-making (3 credits)

  • EDAD 628 SCHOOL LAW (3 credits)

CATEGORY 4: School leadership, management and administration (3 credits)

  • EDAD 611 ADMINISTRATION IN THE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL (3 credits)
  • EDAD 612 ADMINISTRATION IN THE SECONDARY SCHOOL (3 credits)
  • EDAD 642 ORGANIZATION AND ADMINISTRATION OF PUBLIC SCHOOLS (3 credits)
  • EDAD 644 PUBLIC SCHOOL FINANCE (3 credits)

CATEGORY 5: Practicum, internship to include the Maryland Department Approved Leadership Framework Outcomes (3-6 credits)

  • EDAD 693 PRACTICUM I   (3 credits)
  • EDAD 694 PRACTICUM II (3 credits)
