Early Childhood/Elementary Education Program

The Educational Professions Department offers an Early Childhood/Elementary Education major leading to eligibility for certification in nursery school though grade 6 and middle school. Candidates must complete the 24 hour early childhood specialization. Candidates cannot minor in education. All candidates must complete application for each phase of the program.

Graduation/Program Exit Requirements

In addition to successful completion of the Early Childhood/Elementary Education Program, candidates must fulfill the following requirements:

• Successful presentation of a portfolio that meets standards
• Passing score on Praxis II as established by the state of Maryland.
