Elementary Education Program
The Educational Professions Department offers an Elementary Education major leading to eligibility for certification in grades 1-6. Candidates must complete the 24 hour content specialization in either Language Arts, Social Studies, Science, or Mathematics. Candidates cannot minor in education. All candidates must complete application for each phase of the program.
The program application forms are listed in the Department Forms section and may be printed, completed, and submitted to the Office of Unit Assessment.

In addition to successful completion of the Elementary Education program, candidates must fulfill the following requirements:
Program Advisory Council
The Elementary Advisory Council brings together members of the diverse university departments and the school community involved in teacher education twice yearly to strengthen collaboration and program quality.
