Information for Students - Internships
Contact Dr.
Zita McShane, Internship Coordinator, for further information and
application forms.
English internships and work experiences for academic credit (3-15 credits),
as well as Field Experiences in Writing (3 credits), give our majors
a significant advantage in a competitive job market. With a major in
English, you benefit from a curriculum that provides instruction in
various kinds of professional writing (for example, technical writing,
business writing, and journalistic writing) as well as in literature.
Moreover, the internships and the work or field experiences give you
a proving ground for the skills developed in your academic work. Thus
you can graduate having a related, high-powered working experience already
as part of your credentials for employment in various fields in government,
business, industry, publications, public relations, and media.
