The Active Learning Laboratory is used by engineering students to complete their physics course requirements at Frostburg State University. The lab consists of five workstations, hexagonal in shape, each accommodating four students. Students work in teams using computers that are interfaced to transducers to produce a graphical display of distance, velocity and acceleration. The lab is equipped with a full range of sensors that can be used to measure temperature variation, light, magnetic field, radiation, force, pH, and even heart rates.
