Department Facilities The Department of Geography is based in recently renovated Gunter Hall.
Gunter Hall The Geography Department facilities includes: three classrooms, four computer labs, soils labs, environmental science lab, and faculty offices. Gunter Hall has wireless Internet access. Classrooms have Internet access and computer projection equipment.
Gunter 212, specializing in GIS, remote sensing. Three PC-based computer labs are equipped with specialized equipment and computer programs used in mapping, geography, environmental science and engineering design courses.
Gunter 224, specializing in hydrology and environmental design. Software include AutoCad (computer aided design) used in engineering and surveying courses, ArcInfo (GIs software) used in GIs and planning courses, ENVI remote sensing software, FreeHand, and others.
Gunter 223, specializing in mapping sciences.
Gunter 225, student work lab The Department of Geography has extensive field equipment and laboratories used for surveying (7 Total Stations with data collectors), soils investigation and hydrology.
Soils Analytical Measurement Lab
Soils Teaching Lab The Department of Geography has extensive field equipment and laboratories used for surveying, soils investigation and hydrology.
The Department of Geography has an extensive collection of Global Positioning System (GPS) equipment. The Department of Geography has seven Total Stations with data collectors for use in surveying class and on student projects.
