The Department of History offers a strong liberal arts education including an in-depth study of the history of a broad spectrum of geographical regions and cultural traditions supported by a solid grounding in historical research methods. In addition to completing core requirements, students can choose electives from the department's extensive offerings in the histories of the United States, Europe, Asia, Africa, Latin America.
Providing a valuable global and multicultural perspective, as well as developing reading, writing, and critical thinking skills, a History minor is a valuable complement to any majors in arts and humanities, natural and social sciences, and business.
