Course Co-facilitation
Each year approximately eight to ten upper-class
Honors Program students are selected to assist FSU faculty with introductory
level courses. The students are not graders or clerical aids for the
courses. Rather they function as role models and discussion leaders
for the beginning students. The program allows Honors Program students
to take a very active role in their own and others' education.
One course co-facilitating opportunity allowed Honors students who have taken ECON 211 (Honors: Principles of Macro-Economics) to help organize and facilitate problem-solving workshops for students enrolled in ECON 201 (Principles of Macro-Economics). The project has increased student's performance in ECON 201 and encouraged the Honors students to pursue careers in Economics and college teaching.
