The Ort Library will provide photocopies of obituaries for your genealogical research. One or two requests for photocopies of obituaries from newspapers held by the Ort Library will be processed by the InterLibrary Loan staff as time permits.

The appropriate newspaper will be checked for three (3) days after the death date listed on the request. Requests must include the persons’ name and death date (month, day, and year) and may be submitted in the following ways:

The research and results for each request will cost $15.00, made payable in advance to Frostburg State University. The check will not be refunded if an obituary is not found. Please include your mailing address if it is not on the check. Checks should be mailed to the Interlibrary Loan Office address above.

You are always welcome and encouraged to visit the Library. The librarians and library staff will assist you with resources that are available in print and microform.

A listing of genealogical resources locally held is provided on our site. Please check the hours the Library is open prior to your visit.
