Programming Produced Outside of the Department of Mass Communication:

  • Annenberg, American Cinema is a series of shows on film history that will use clips from more than 300 of the greatest movies ever made; this series explores film history and American culture through the eyes of over 150 Hollywood insiders. There are 10-one hour and 3 half-hour shows. This series targets high school students through adults and will air weekly on Wednesdays at 4:30 & 7:30 PM.   • Annenberg, American Passages: A Literary Survey is a 30-minute series of shows that will cover an expanded view of American literary movements, bringing in a diversity of voices and tracing the continuity among them. This series targets students and teachers in college and will air weekly on Wednesdays at 5:30 & 8:30 PM.   • Annenberg, Connecting with the Arts: A Teaching Practice Library is a 30-minute video library for teachers in grades 6-8 that will feature a variety of meaningful arts integration approaches taking place in middle school classrooms around the country.   • Annenberg, Essential Science for Teachers: Physical Science is a 60-minute series of shows designed to help K–6 teachers gain an understanding of some of the bedrock science concepts they need to teach today’s standards-based curricula. The series of courses includes Life Science, Earth and Space Science, and Physical Science. This series will air weekly on Fridays at 4 & 7 PM.   • Annenberg, Human Geography: People, Places and Change is a 30-minute series of shows that will feature communities around the world that are coping with major socioecnomic change, the programs help students understand present-day events within the scope of clearly recognizable trends, and realize the impact that government, corporate, and individual decisions may have on people and places near and far.   • Annenberg, Social Studies in Action-A Teaching Practice Library, K-12 is a video library for K-12 teachers shows a variety of effective social studies lessons and techniques for use with students at all levels.
