Internship and Extended Internship Information

We, in the Department of Mass Communication, believe that real-world, professional experience is a vital asset to any Mass Communication student's resume. That's why we strongly suggest all our majors participate in an internship/extended internship. Before we continue, it's important for you to know that there is NO practical difference between an internship/extended internship. The difference is only in the number of hours of credit students would receive.

for the MCOM department (i.e.,
timesheets, paper, evaluation,

*This option available during spring or fall semester ONLY

Whether you wish to undertake an internship or an extended internship, you first need to find a place to work. For a list of businesses and organizations that have hosted MCOM internship students in the past, please click HERE.(PDF)

Now for the paperwork. Here are the forms you will need, 1) the Internship/Extended Internship Information packet which will answer all your questions AND 2) the Contract/Host Site Agreement which must be completed BEFORE you can be registered for your internship.  Please read BOTH documents completely.  Only the MCOM Chair or Administrative Assistant can register students for internship/extended internship and this can only be completed once signed contracts are received.
