Professor Almquist is a scholar of Montaigne and Pascal,
specializing in French legal history, nineteenth-century reception
of Renaissance
texts, and nineteenth-century historiography. She is a member of
the Modern Language Association, Sixteenth Century Studies, NASSFL
and Port-Royal.
