Jazz Guitar, Jazz Bass







Jim Roderick has earned a Bachelor of Arts in music education from Frostburg State University and a Master's degree in Music from West Virginia University.  In addition, he has completed the course work for a Master's in Jazz Pedagogy from WVU.  Mr. Roderick studied jazz guitar with Walt Namuth and Scott Elliot.

An active performer on guitar and bass for over 35 years, Jim has performed with Lew Soloff, Chris Vadala, Curtis Johnson, Paul Bollenback, Allison Miller, and many other local and regional jazz artists.  He is a member of the Potomac State College Community Jazz Ensemble, The Bill Green Quartet, the Classic Jazz Quintet, and is the founding member of the popular R & B  group Queen City Funk and Soul.  Jim is currently the band director at Braddock Middle School in Cumberland, Maryland.

You must audition on Thursday, March 10, 2016 to be considered for any music scholarships.
